The terrain of Mount Guntur, located in West Java–Indonesia, is known to be very challenging–in fact, many say this mountain is not recommended for beginner climbers. One of the main difficulties is the lack of trees, which makes the landscape look barren and exposed.

Due to its arid and hot conditions, many climbers choose to start their journey early in the morning or late in the afternoon. Additionally, Mount Guntur has steep slopes and unstable soil making it prone to landslides.
